Bobby Ryan has a modified NTC, NMC. Doubt this article has sources or legs.

In concept it makes sense but in practical terms it is hard to believe GMs would give a first rounder selection to move a bad contract. While Ryan might be owed a lot of money he is still a decent player. I'd think you could send him to a team with cap space and take back some salary from them with lesser picks.

It's more like Dion Phaneuf or Dustin Brown + a 1st RP.

I honestly can not see any team including a first rounder to insure a certain player is taken but who knows? is Millbury back as a GM?

I didn't think Ryan had a no movement but I also didn't realize he was making +$7m per season. That's just crazy and might be worth sending off a 1st to get rid of.

How many 1sts will LA have to give up for LV to take Brown's contract???

But Ottawa fought so hard to get that coveted 28th overall...

I would keep Phaneuf over Ryan. Don't let a few bright spots in the playoffs fool you. Ryan is one of the worst contracts in the league. Phaneuf at least can contribute, albeit nowhere near 7 million worth.

How about alex Edler and the rights to a former 1st rounder, Patrick White?

he doesnt have a no move. has a no trade. bobby ryan is still a decent player but its about freeing up space in a few years time when his play drops off. if im the sens i make that move, its unfortunate but necessary

Bobby Ryan's stock has grown a lot from his amazing playoff run, and there is no doubt McPhee really likes him as a player and a building block.

No it hasn't.

Do you think NHL GM's will now forget his near complete disappearing act or ignore that contract.

Tough call. The Sens have a prospect list befitting a mediocre team. They can't afford to give away picks.

Since they aren't a cap team, I say they just hold on to Ryan, as long as Ownership doesn't mind pissing 14+ away for the next 4 years on him and Phanoof.

depends on the situation.. the kings are in ruins with the cap, it sucks for the fans but they have a couple boat anchor contracts that must be moved if they hope to compete again during while their window for success is still open.

They have some nice prospects in white, brown and chabot just not much depth. If im them i bite the bullet and use 1st to unload him. His spot can be filled with White next season. Phaneuf has the no move so again it might be tougher to do..

Plus when you factor in sens fans didnt even sell out the arena in conference finals im not spending anymore money than i have to if im the owner.

brown is junk.

chabot and white are nice prospects, but won't be game changers next year. they basically have nothing after those 2.

Unless the team is losing other players because of the salary cap. Spending assets to get rid of a bad contract is completely pointless. Compounds the problem

Can Vegas trade their club picks? Say another team wants a player that is exposed by the Sens can Vegas trade their Sens club pick to that other club?

No idea what a club pick is, but Vegas can trade players once they select them in the expansion draft
